Short description of internship:
This is an NGO that provides a framework for contemporary mentorship in South Africa in an attempt to restore a positive life vision and provide inspirational role models to youth.
The programme offers one-to-one mentoring relationships to children in need. Their key focus areas are Schools Programme, Children's Home Programme, Diversion Programme and Programme in support of those affected and/or infected by HIV/AIDS.
Internship tasks:
- Assist in increasing media coverage and exposure
- Maintaining their present PR initiatives which focus on newspaper articles, radio talk shows, Open mall stands, presentations to interested parties, corporate and small businesses, quarterly newsletters.
- Organisation of fundraising events, outings for matches
As an intern you would work with the present PR staff member and enhance and strengthen the portfolio.
Applicant requirements:
- Public Relations background
- Strong administrative, communication and organizational skills, as you will play a big part in social and community development, providing you with the opportunity to get to know the real South Africa.
- Interpersonal effectiveness is of high importance, and you will be required to incorporate the use of initiative as well as the quality, accuracy and timeousness of work.
- Lastly, this position calls for a competent motivated individual who will be working in a stimulating work environment that will ensure a successful internship.
