The Restaurant


The Restaurant is situated on the same premises as Ons Genot Country Lodge, located at the back of the pond. The terrace is facing the pond, a perfect seating to enjoy spectacular sundowners through the breath-taking huge Eucalyptus trees, while frogs, birds and crickets play a romantic concert.

The Chef
The restaurant is run by Ilse and Jef van Nuffelen, previously the Head Chef at Wilgenhoeve, an up-market restaurant near Antwerp, Belgium.

The Cuisine

The restaurant will serve genuine Belgian cuisine with a unique African taste.

The menu, which will change daily, will feature sumptuous delights such as Smoked Duck Breast Salad, Beef Fillet smothered in a Belgian Beer Sauce, to traditional Belgian Pancakes served with Fig ice cream. Although Jef is famous for his soups, his speciality is Snoek prepared in a Sangria sauce.

Beside an extensive supply of the Bottelary Wine Area wines, some selected Belgian beers are also available.

The restaurant is open daily for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Athmosphere

The set up of the restaurant is a typical Bistro style restaurant, cousy and tastefully furnished by Ilse. Also the lightlings is quite original, especially with the Geckos and the Ostrich eggs on the Terrace
