The Medical Scheme

Momentum Health is an independent medical aid scheme registered in terms of Section 24 (1) of the Medical Schemes Act 1998 (Act No 131 of 1998).

A steering committee initiated the medical scheme at a time when the health care industry needed an alternative role-player to deliver:

• good value for money
• affordability and flexibility
• efficient and cost-effective administration
• pre-emptive compliance with the strategic vision of the government for the private sector

This medical aid scheme offers six options to match the member's own particular needs.

Momentum Distribution Services (MDS) distributes Momentum Health medical aid through accredited and registered financial advisers. MDS sources financial products from various group product providers and delivers these to financial intermediaries as solutions for the individual needs of their clients.

Momentum Health is a division of the FirstRand Group.
