Subject: The Joslin family stay at Winchester Mansions Hotel

We are writing to advise you of the wonderful support we received from the Winchester Mansions Hotel staff following my husband Daves illness, and to ask if they can be nominated for any award that might be appropriate. We were originally booked to stay with Dave's twins, Harry and Eleanor, (twins)at Winchester Mansions for four nights last October as part of a 'holiday of a lifetime' to celebrate Dave's 60th birthday.On the day that we were due to leave Dave woke up with violent chest pain which was very frightening for all concerned. The night receptionist was excellent and immediately called the hotel doctor who eventually admitted Dave to hospital where he was diagnosed with viral pneumonia. Harry and Eleanor were unable to go to hospital with us so the staff undertook to care for them and to take them to visit later in the day. The staff could not have been more supportive and went out of their way to anticipate any concerns and to deal with them. They provided transport, maintained our accommodation, and ensured that every practical and emotional need was met. This support ranged from the manager visiting Dave in hospital with a wonderful fruit basket to the drivers working late to make sure we had transport from the hospital. We cannot praise the staff of the Winchester Mansions more highly. We stayed on when Dave returned from hospital and were able to enjoy all the sights of Cape Town.The hotel wrote to us on our return to the UK to enquire after Dave. They are the best example possible of what makes a hotel great... we cannot commend them enough.

Dear Sir/Madam

Myself and my husband recently stayed at the Winchester Mansions during a trip to Africa. Unfortunately we are now back in dreary England but I would just like to say how pleased we were with our choice of hotel. Our room was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the location was perfect. If only we were back in the sunshine having drinks out the front watching the sun set, then after having dinner in the restaurant whilst listening to the superb pianist.

I write to express my thanks for a most pleasant stay, we booked over the Internet on the basis of the photo's and description, which as I'm sure you know can not always be delivered by some companies, I am pleased to say that such was our delight that we had to bring our friends back at the end of our stay.

You staff were always smiling and willing to assist, baby sitters were arranged without any problems, which gave us the opportunity to go out and relax, the suit was just like a private flat.

I will without doubt be staying with you in the future and have already recommended your Hotel to a friend, thank you again for looking after myself and my family so well, and please pass on my thanks to your staff.
